The Artist has assembled a collection of his greatest and most-revered imagery spanning four decades: from his iconic Pop Art designs commemorating Woodstock to the 2013 unveiling of Max’s design for the cruise ship Breakaway and the exquisite Love Series series in honor of Valentine’s Day. This new exhibition speaks to the evolution and maturation of America’s most popular living Artist, as well as paying homage to his iconic visions and imagery of love and romance.

This carefully curated collection is a museum-like exhibit which speaks to Max’s patriotism and love of all things American: Peter Max has painted for five U.S. Presidents and his art is on display in Museums, Presidential Libraries and in U.S. Embassies across the globe. He has been the Official Artist of five NFL Super Bowls, the 2006 Olympics, the World Cup USA, The World Series, The U.S. Open, The Indy 500, The NYC Marathon and The Kentucky Derby.

This new Exhibition is a journey through his extraordinary and distinguished career, so well captured by these Iconic works.

Peter Max emerged as a powerful force in the Art World from the prestigious Art Students League, alongside such artists as Robert Rauschenberg, Jackson Pollack, Cy Twombly and Norman Rockwell. The League was a formative influence on these artists’ innovative artwork, and has led each and every one to greatness and an important legacy in history.

Max’s Art Students League scholarly influence inspired all of his extraordinary artwork, and of late, his new Masters series; his interpretive works of Vincent Van Gogh, Monet, Pablo Picasso, Renoir, and Edgar Degas, conceived in Max’s signature style and colors. These works speak to both a maturation of the artist’s illustrious career, as well as to his formidable training at the 130 year old Art Students League of New York.

Important pieces of the Heart Series in honor of Valentine’s Day 2015 will be available for acquisition in the presentation.

About the Cultural Center

Founded in 1994, The Cultural Center (CCPVB) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) Arts organization located in Ponte Vedra Beach. We bring culture to our community with art exhibitions featuring locally, regionally and nationally known artists; arts classes and workshops for children and adults; children’s arts camps; and spectacular special events that support art education.

On-site Educational Programs: We provide ongoing multi-disciplinary arts classes, summer camps and workshops for adults and children, taught by regional and national artists. In addition to the daily ongoing classes, CCPVB provides a series of professional development programs which provide more advanced resources for artists to enhance their artistic ability, increase their marketability, and promote career growth.

Outreach Programs: CCPVB is dedicated to culturally enriching the lives of the underserved. We accomplish this by offering free program like, “Memories in the Making,” art making for seniors with early dementia; Music Therapy for children with special needs; and scholarship programs for the financially underserved.
