Mick Fleetwood Biography

Mick Fleetwood, legendary drummer and founding member of Fleetwood Mac, was born June 24, 1947 in Cornwall, England. He began his professional drumming career at the age of 16 and has remained at the forefront of the music industry for over 40 years.

He is currently writing his third book, Play On, with well-known author, Anthony Bozza, and it’s scheduled for release on October 28th, 2014.  Fleetwood continues to find critical acclaim with his music, including a Grammy nomination in 2010 for his Mick Fleetwood Blues Band.

A lover of art photography, Mick has had fun turning his passion/hobby into a viable business, having his own photographs featured around the world at galleries and gallery exhibitions.

For over 14 years he’s been at the helm of his own wine enterprise, Mick Fleetwood Private Cellar. The wines have sold in the millions, been featured in Wine Spectator and Wine Connoisseur and the Wall Street Journal.  They have received over 10 blind tasting international medals and professional accolades for quality.

And most recently Fleetwood opened up his 10,000 sq ft. flagship restaurant, FLEETWOODS ON FRONT ST., on Maui.  Opening a place like Fleetwood’s on Front Street has been a life-long dream of Mick’s since he opened up Club Keller (his pretend/fantasy venue) in his family’s barn in Gloucestershire, England at the age of 12.   Fleetwood’s on Front St. celebrated its second birthday in 2014.  The restaurant has won numerous awards including the restaurant association’s coveted Best New Restaurant, numerous food awards and the Maui County Fair’s best vegetarian and best overall chili in the 2013 cook off beating all entries in all categories.

A family man, Mick has four daughters and two grandchildren. He and his family have their permanent residence on the Island of Maui, Hawaii and also maintain a home in Los Angeles, California.  Whether behind his drum kit, pursuing his dreams, interacting with fans or just playing with his grandkids, Mick brings his own unique, drive, passion and spirituality to the many facets of his life.
